About DESIIR
What is DESIIR?
DESIIR is a digital ecosystem that brings together research datasets and data from partners in Quebec. This data covers diverse areas such as the environment, physical health, psychosocial health, culture, and population structure. While the importance of each of these sources is widely recognized for understanding the determinants of health, few initiatives allow for their integration into a holistic and sustainable health-oriented perspective.
The DESIIR digital ecosystem ensures the confidentiality of the hosted datasets with the utmost rigor and adheres to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).
Data curation
The curation team supports researchers and partners in preparing and ensuring the compliance of their data within the ecosystem.
Ethics and Legality
In accordance with the laws and standards in Quebec, the digital ecosystem is governed by a Management Framework that provides for different levels of data access to guarantee confidentiality and compliance.
Digital Environment
The infrastructure is based on the cloud servers of the SecureData4Health project, hosted by Calcul Québec's Juno service, offering a secure, high-performance environment adapted to research needs.
DESIIR is a data catalog that allows researchers to explore and host various harmonized datasets. DESIIR will thus be a vehicle for creating new intersectoral datasets for health studies from a sustainable perspective.
Researchers can use Data Portal to search, download, or request access to datasets.
Partners can host datasets on the DESIIR platform. The submission process is the same as for researchers.
Partners can also request access to restricted-access datasets. Access requests must be submitted as a research project, as defined in the DESIIR management framework.
Anyone can use the DESIIR query tool to explore the diversity of datasets. Open-access datasets are available for citizens.
A component dedicated to feedback to participants and citizen science is currently being developed within the DESIIR project.
We are currently developing a component within DESIIR devoted to participant feedback and citizen science.
